Elwood F. Holton, III Research Excellence Award

The Elwood F. Holton III Research Excellence Award, named for the first editor of HRDR, is awarded for the outstanding Human Resource Development Review refereed article in each annual volume.

Award Criteria

  • New theoretical insights that contribute to and advance the HRD profession
  • Importance of the theoretical/conceptual insight
  • Appropriateness of approach used
  • Thoroughness of contribution
  • Clarity and quality of reporting

Nomination/Review Process

Each committee member will nominate 2 or 3 of all the refereed articles printed in the volume (4 issues) for the award. They will then rate each of the nominated articles using specific criteria under the categories above. The highest rated article will receive the award.

Deadlines

Committee decisions must be forwarded to the Awards Program Chair, Maria Cseh, and the AHRD Office by February 1.
